The Year In Pics

Happy New Year's Eve!  I had such an amazing year in 2012.  My cup runneth over:  wonderful family and friends, travel, art-making, family milestones including a wedding and several births.  I don't know where to start!   I celebrated my 30th wedding anniversary.  I won a first place award for one of my quilts in World of Beauty.  If someone had told me, 20 years ago, when I attended the Houston Quilt Festival for the first time that I would even have a quilt juried into that show I would have laughed.
There have been so many amazing things.  By no means are these the only things, but here are a few of the moments.  Thanks for coming along with me on this journey.  I am honored.
Here are some images from 2012, in the order they occurred.

My wish for you is to have a happy,
healthy, love and art-filled year in 2013.

  1. Wow! What a high-energy year. Creat/release, create/release, create/release... way to keep your creativity FLOWING!

    1. I like your observation of "creating/releasing". That is really what it is like, isn't it? My best to you in 2013!

  2. What a year, I'm so glad we had several opportunities to get crazy together! love you!

    1. Love you, too, Judy. Looking forward to the next "happening".

  3. Such lush gorgeous images! Thanks for sharing. Hope to take another class with you someday. (I was in your Chicago "Create" workshop with the group canvases, a piece of which has covered my visual journal this year and continues to inspire me. Oh, and thoughts of the conga line in and out of other classes!)

    1. Cheryl! I hope to see you again someday! We were CRAZY in that class. That conga line was awesome. Let's do it again!!

  4. Looks like a great year!
    Here's to a wonderful 2013!

  5. WOW! I'm exhausted just reading about it all. You are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing all you do and best wishes for a fabulous 2013!

    1. Here is to hoping our paths cross again in 2013! xoxo

  6. It WAS a great year for you! I love the photo's of all your highlights. Nice to have those visual memories so our memories can be enjoyed all over again. happy New Year!

    1. Agreed. This was the first time I've done a blog "recap" of the year. It might become a habit. Happy New Year!!

  7. What a cool way to review the year! It was great to see you in Houston

    1. Thank you, Ruth, and I was thrilled to see you, too! Congratulations, again, on your huge (well-deserved) win in Houston!

  8. I really enjoyed reading your year in review, and remembered back to those times with great joy. We do know how to have fun. Onward and upward for 2013!

    1. Here, here, my friend! I can't wait to get started! Woo Hoo!

  9. Your year in review is enjoyable and interesting.
I live in Rockport TX and my husband grew up and then returned to SA for graduate school at Trinity. I often do smallish works before I take on doing the the same subject in on a larger and more complex scale. Thanks for sharing your year.
Congratulations to all on the beautiful baby girl!

    1. I certainly wish I had learned this lesson sooner!

Baby Clementine is awesome. It was an honor to be present for her birth.

  10. Wow. Am I the only person exhausted just from looking? I'm marking my calendar to make sure I see your post for 2013.

    1. Ha Ha! Now I'm going to put it on my calendar, too. I hope it won't be too dull!
