Sold!

What a thrill:  my piece, "Heartland:  A Scattered Landscape", has been sold to an architectural firm.  I'm very honored that this work was chosen.  Since my father was an architect (as well as a structural engineer) I'm especially pleased that it will reside in this type of setting.
Here are images of the piece:

  1. I love the detail shot. Are those fabric pieces that are fused?

  3. Congrats Leslie! I love the transparency and creative blueprint this piece has. The layered inspirations-- first osmotic; father, family, and early personal life experience, then deliberate with consciousness: adult observation, awareness and experience filtered through your unique personal perspective which led to subject and theme. How all this was then translated to design and ultimately transformed and masterfully executed by your unique artistic expression, craftsmanship and interesting (and political) materials choice with clarity and precision AND that it was purchased by an architectural firm truly affirms how successful you were in expressing the entire creative journey with your elegant abstractions. Kudos!

  4. Thank you for your kind words. Gerrie, the smaller "bits" are paper shreddings from both my junk mail and issues of old Dwell magazines.
Personal writings are on pieces of mulberry paper as well as used facial cloths that have been dye-printed.

  6. Leslie... a girl after my own heart!! I did a piece 18 months or so ago that has no batting but is layered... and I used netting and organza to encase a figure... my 'Addiction' piece... and I am so glad you sold it it, too.... way to go!! An inspiration you are to all of us.
