Just northwest of Taos NM is the
Rio Grande Gorge, where the 2nd longest
expansion bridge crosses over the river 650 feet below. In addition to driving over the bridge there are sidewalks on either side, so it is possible to park and walk the length of the bridge in both directions. The wind is powerful as is courses through the gorge. The bridge vibrates as vehicles cross. I loved it, of course.
I am sure you walked slowly across this bridge and leaned over the railing to see everything. I would have looked at it and ran back the opposite way!
ReplyDeleteI thought of you while I was walking across, and yes, I did enjoy the experience, especially the high wind blowing through the gorge. I know it would be your idea of hell.
ReplyDeleteTwo weeks ago my husband walked across this bridge. I walked to the edge, looked down, then retreated to the parking area to see what the Navajos were selling.
ReplyDeleteI was there on July 2nd. It would be too funny if we were there at the same time!
ReplyDeleteyea I'm with Jamie, I would have looked, turned and ran in the opposite direction!
