Ahhh...Spring!

For the last 2 days, we San Antonians have wondered if we will segue directly from winter into summer:  temps in the high 70's!  The warmth has signaled the plants to spring forth which is a welcome event for gardeners.  The birds were a lively chorus as I wandered through my garden this morning discovering a few things:
the first wildflower blossom, a toadflax!

the daffodils are blooming!

of my winter plantings, the ornamental kale is preparing to bloom
the green leaves to the left are bluebonnets

I love the sculptural quality of kale

  1. Can you blow some of that goodness up east?

  2. I hope that you will have good weather on your travels...the past few days of sunshine have brought out the coral honeysuckle blossoms in my yard....way too early, but much appreciated. Unfortunately the resident skunk has taken to digging up the yard, and our efforts to encourage its moving along seem to only make it more determined to stay. Have fun. Mary Ann
